Related to this new commercial awareness was the demonstration of Matador from FBBT . This primarily tracks technical assets, seeing what is working and what is not, and how often each link in the chain is used — if a piece of hardware has low utilisation does it really need to be there?

At NAB it was demonstrated with a live link into the BBC's Northern Ireland centre. It gave data for the demonstration — but more important it demonstrated how systems management can be carried out remotely.
